RPG Application Modernization

With the release of Valence, CNX is now actively assisting System i shops with their initiatives to put fresh faces on their RPG-based “green screen” applications. In many cases, this process entails simply separating the business logic of existing interactive RPG programs from their green screen interfaces and then redeploying the resulting applications within the Valence framework. Once freed of the 24x80 green screen limitations, you will find it’s quite easy to add additional fields and functionality to your Valence-based applications, taking full advantage of the flexibility afforded within the Web 2.0 context.

CNX is available on a contract basis to perform these program conversions and/or provide on-site assistance to your IT staff to get the process started. As programs are retrofitted they can be added one-at-a-time to the Valence navigation tree, thereby gradually transitioning your user base from green screen to Web 2.0 with minimal disruption to ongoing business operations.
