V101 — Getting started with Valence on your IBM i (2 days)

This course covers everything you need to know to get with Valence on your IBM i. Target audience is for those completely new to web development or seeking a refresher on the latest and greatest development tools and processes. Topics covered include:

  • Installing Valence
  • Setting up your development and debugging tools (RDI, Aptana, Firebug)
  • Managing the IBM i Apache Server instance(s)
  • Creating test and live environments
  • Ext-JS and Valence RPG Toolkit basics
  • Managing the Valence Portal

V201 — Valence development fundamentals (2 days)

This course is for those ready to start serious application development with Valence. Attendees will get hands-on training in developing the front-end Ext JS logic and using the corresponding back-end Valence RPG tool-kit procedures, creating their own Valence applications that will demonstrate the use of the most common web components. Topics covered include:
